HELP NEEDED!

The communities in southern Chihuahua State are suffering of floods causing drinking water and food shortage in the area.

Some of the largest dams around the state are already overflowing causing rivers to flood cities and towns!

Among the most needed items are bottled water, canned food, rice, beans, blankets, sleeping bags, jackets, clothes.

IN THE CITY OF PARRAL, CHIHUAHUA according to the reports, there are 16 neighborhoods declared in disaster zone, where 497 homes were affected by the flood. Eight communities around the Municipality have reported over 390 acre crop loss and 33 water wells clogged.

In some areas the residents had evacuated but they have been allowed to return just for lamenting their losses. Power is being re-established gradually and  so is water, but still lots of bottled water is needed as over 60% of the population has lost water supply. The water infrastructure has been damaged so severily that it will cost about $1,000,000 US Dollars to repair.

It has been reported that 497 homes have been partially damaged and 70 of them in total lost.
Some other neighborhoods besides laking of water, they are without sewer system, street lights, and telephone.

RURAL AREAS AFFECTED
Meanwhile in the surrounding rural areas eight communities have been affected reporting 157 damaged homes  and 42 totaled. The Chihuahua City helicopter has been provided by our Mayor in order to supply groceries and water to some communities where the access was flooded by rivers and creeks.
